The Samford University business school has been renamed the Brock School of Business.  School leaders are kicking off a $100 million endowment campaign inaugurated with a significant donation for Alabama banker Harry Brock Jr.  The school intends to focus on entrepreneurship, a hot topic among business schools at the moment.

What does $26 million get you these days? The name of a business school, for one. Utah State University announced a gift from Jon M. Huntsman Sr which will be honored with a renaming of the business school.

Nashville's Lipscomb University announced that it had appointed Susan Galbreath interim dean of its business school. Galbreath is currently co-authoring three books with Lipscomb professors and has a doctorate in Business Administration and a Masters in Accounting.

At the University of Arizona, Law students work along side business school students as they provide each other with simulated real world experience. The Business/Law exchange brings together students from the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship and the James E. Rogers College of Law.

For the first time ever, UAB Business School may have an African American lead its program. Eli Jones, executive education at the University of Houston's C.T. Bauer College of Business, is one of three finalists for the position.

Charles Ryan has been named the new dean of the University of Charleson business graduate school. Ryan is a successful Charleston businessman who will be starting the new school from scratch.

This time of year you hear a lot about what toys are selling the most. We all remember different toy crazes around this time, think Tickle-Me Elmo. Tuck Business School (Dartmouth) professor Eric Johnson is taking a economics approach to toys to determine what tech toys "you should be giving."

The markets may be turning their shoulders on real estate, but the business school at the College of Charleston is embracing the industry. Professors at C of C are putting together an in-depth real estate program, according to a local newspaper, that goes beyond basic principles of supply-demand and buying-selling.

For the first time ever, Indian students make up the plurality of foreign students attending Harvard Business School.  The Economic Times seems to confuse the word 'majority' on this story and perhaps 'dominate' is a bit strong, but Indian nationals have overtaken Canadians as the most enrolled foreign nationality at HBS.  In the class of 2009 there are 39 Indian students and 35 Canadians.

Steve Jones, dean of the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has announced that he will step down when his 5-year term ends next June.
