Cell Phone Sites Power Enersys (NYSE: ENS)

The FCC recently mandated that cell phone sites must have a minimum of an 8-hour back-up in the case of lost power in the area. This has sent nearly all carriers scurrying to replace/upgrade the batteries at their sites. One company who has benefited from this is Enersys (NYSE: ENS). The Harrisburg, PA company makes a quality lead-based battery which can be used in cell sites to help bring carriers up to compliance.
The sector, and Enersys, have been hurt by high lead prices. According to an IBS article today, however, Enersys made it through the rough patch of expensive lead much better than its peers. Reuters shows three analysts with two buys and one moderate buy.
